How to protect registry keys against *.hiv ?

Here, I test a virus as an example!

First, EQ-Secure

I choose Allow for all of the following alerts!

2nd, COMODO V3

I choose Allow for all of the following alerts!

Where is the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run*” ?

COMODO V3 did not alert here (:SAD)

Hello,

That key has been added with .268 setup. There was a bug preventing “RUN” key to be added.

In terms of “.hiv” files. They are simply registry backup files used to import/export keys. Extensions are not important. A virus can use some other extension.
The important popup alerts are “Privilege Elevation” popups. Backup and Restore. Without these privileges, those operations cant harm your computer.

Thx for the feedback,
