I bumped into a unknown security program, and even though it came with a real installer (unlike so many of current “AV scanners”) it aroused my suspicion. After unpacking the installer, CIS sounded the alarm bell:
This “program” was malicious, no doubt about it.
I contacted ThePlanet.com (they host the website of this malware) and informed them about what was going on. This is their reply:
“We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. The issue you are referring to has been previously addressed. The file you indicated is not malicious”.
Either Comodo (and the others) are wrong in their analysis, or ThePlanet doesn’t care what they host, as long as it brings in some money. I find this behaviour pretty sad.
