how to correctly switch from firewall to CIS ?

Hi, i´m currently using the free firewall with D+ and MSE 2.x but i want to switch to CIS and remove MSE.

How do i correctly upgrade? Should i just uninstall mse and install CIS (without uninstalling comodo free firewall) ?

Or should i uninstall everything and install CIS ?

Thanks

Hi Zakazak. You should be able to just uninstall MSE, I would then reboot. Go to Add/Remove programs and click change for CIS and you should have this option see screenshot. If using an older version I would uninstall and reinstall the latest version. Kind regards.

okay thank i will do that

Hope it all goes well.

ye it worked fine.

Currently setting up the preferences and i got some questions:

will the scheduled scans also start when the computer is in use? How can i make them to only start when the computer is on idle?

“My Computer” Will scann the whole computer?

So what i did: 2 schedules.
13:10 - Spyware
13:35 - Critical Areas

Thanks

@edit: stateful scanning… will that reconize malware for example when i plug in an usb stick with malware on it? Or open a folder with malware in it (but yet i didnt execute the malware) ?

Glad it worked out ok

Yes it will start, and as far as know there is no way to set it to only start while idle. Help file

Some form of interaction with the malware carrying file would need to take place. eg Copying, moving, opening etc. Help file Kind regards.

You could change/edit the schedule time/day to a period you know it will be idle.

mhh no i hoped for an automatic solution. is there away to run it via cmd-line so i could use the windows task scheduler ?

Hi Zakazak. It might be worth adding a new Topic to CIS Wishlist for future versions about Schedule scans during idle periods.

Yesterday, I installed the Comodo Firewall and use Avira as my AV. Today Avira wants to install a toolbar powered by Ask that I don’t want and it appears until I do the umbrella in the task icon will remain closed.

Anyway, today I’d like to add Comodo AV and know to go to add/remove change. Should both boxes be checked as pictured, or just the AV?

Hi Hikertrash. If you would like to continue using Comodo Firewall as well as adding Comodo AV leave both boxes ticked. Kind regards.

Thanks Captain!

Worked like a charm. A complete AV scan took a bit and I suspect 1 false positive but otherwise, clear sailing.

Hi Hikertrash. Glad to hear all is working well and thankyou for your feedback. Kind regards.
