How long should it take CIS to install?

How long should it take CIS to install? How many reboots?

I downloaded and started the install last night. I have been through several reboots already and the install is waiting for another. Install progress has been at 99% since the early hours of the morning, and is still at 99%.

My system is:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+ 2.51 GHz
2GB memory
209GB free space on disk

Previously installed Comodo firewall v3.9.95478.509 (CIS_Setup_3.9.95478.509_XP_Vista_x64.exe)

Downloaded last night, Jan 15, 20012, cispremium_installer.exe - CIS v5.9.219863.2196

with that rig 10 minutes or less. You might have left overs form the old install. Cancel the install and try cleaning up computer using the tool here Comodo Forum

Also clean up possible left overs of previously installed security programs.You can find a list of removal tools here: ESET Knowledgebase .

Ok, thanks guys. I will try your suggestions.

By the way, how does one cancel/abort this installation? It’s still stuck at 99% and rebooting. Clicking on the close button of the installer doesn’t work, it goes through it’s cancel routine, asks to reboot and after rebooting goes right back to installing. At 99%. ???

Try closing it with Task Manager.
