How do I prevent automatic loading of Geek Buddy when my WIN XP PC starts ???

Hi Forum,

How do I accomplish the subject above ?

I just want Geek Buddy to stay resident in my PC Memory, ONLY when I NEED to use the application and NOTHING else!

Furthermore automatic loading of Geek Buddy when Windows starts increases the total Boot time for my PC considerably ! - I really DON’t like that !!!

So, what can I do in order to get rid of this annoying problem ???

3 steps to disable GeekBuddy from the startup.

  1. Open Start → Run
  2. Type msconfig in the run box and click OK. This will open the System Configuration utility
  3. Click on Startup tab and uncheck GeekBuddy

Hi Grand,
Thank’s for answering!
Well, I’ve already tried your advice below, but for some reason the GeekBuddy application is NOT listed under the Startup tab when running MSConfig.
Additional the GeekBuddy application is NOT listed under the Start/All Programs/Start menu alongside a couple of other programs & utiliities starting up when XP loads on my PC
So, I think that GeekBuddy during boot solely must be initialized by various Key values and parameters etc. located inside my WIN XP regristry, but I’m not happy to experiment in changing theese relevant values etc. in my XP registry.
So what can I do in order to prevent GeekBuddy from initialize when XP starts on my PC ?

Hi…

Do you see CLPSLA or Cpa in the Startup?
