How do I add my browsers and other programs to protected files?

I found a video how to on youtube and did it that way but can’t find it anymore and forget how to do it.

Defense+ → Computer Security Policy → Protected Files and Folders. Just add whatever you’d like.

Thanks got IE added but can’t find Mozilla Firefox in the programs list. How can I add the entire program I can only find the Desktop link.

I wouldn’t add programs through the programs list because you’re probably only protecting the shortcut. (Never tried doing that, so I’m unsure of the result…) I would navigate to the actual installed location. The default location for Firefox would be C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.

If you’re still having difficulty locating the .exe, then use the Add → Running Processes method. Start the application you’d like to protect, then from Protected Files and Folders, click the Add button and select Running Processes. Then click on the application in the list to highlight it and click the Select button.

So adding C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. will protect the entire program? I am looking to do that not just the exe.

OK, yes, that would protect the entire folder. You’d need the wildcard though. The actual path would be C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox*

Thanks got it.

Good luck updating it then…
Browser updates are very important and you deny it with this…
If comodo experts thought it should be protected, they would include that…
Just my thought…

OK removed it from protected. I thought that would just make it so malware can’t tamper with it not stop it from updating.

Why not use Sandboxie with CIS?

I don’t like the 5 second wait you get with sandboxie, Comodo is instant opening of the browser.

You could always sandbox your browser with CIS.

Defense+ → Computer Security Policy → Always Sandbox

Nice one, HeffeD :-TU :-TU
