How do I act on what Comodo detects?

I’ve been having some issues with viruses lately, namely a particularly nasty one that keep appearing in the System Restore folders of my second hard drive.

Today when I opened up Comodo, I noticed that it had 7 new threats detected. When I open the window to see what it found, all I can see is the location of the virus and what it did.

Comodo says that it was successful in finding the virus, but it won’t let me perform any more actions on that virus unless I rescan the drive for it.

Also, shouldn’t Comodo be giving popups when it finds these viruses? I didn’t see anything until I happened to open Comodo.

What are your settings for Real Time Scanning? How is it set to respond when a malware is found?

Can you access the contents of the System Restore folders? When you can’t CIS can’t delete files there eiter. To get access to them follow: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531 .

System restore is notorious for holding viruses which cannot be cleaned / deleted by AV applications. If you are happy with your system in its current state and are sure that you don’t want to restore, you can disable system restore, which will delete all restore points, then enable it again.

Hope this helps
