How can I tell what COM Interface an app is trying to access?

Most seem to be identified by a string of alphanumerics (a GUID, I think) such as 9BA05972-F6A8-11CF-A442-00A0C90A8F39. This tells me nothing. I’ve found (by trial & error) that blocking the access doesn’t cause seem to cause any problems but I’d still like to know what it’s trying to do. Can I identify what program the COM interface belongs to? If the app is trying to access its own components then I’d expect blocking that to cause problems-but if it’s trying to access components of other programs then I’d like to know which-and why if I can figure it out. Thanks.

Block the COM under security policy for the app you want to check and then run the app. Then check → view defense+ events.
