Of course it will get better. ![]()
Youāre kidding me right.
CIS found and cleaned 100% of over 36,000 real malware. With FPās of less than 1/5 of 1%.
And some would prefer apps that at best caught 55 to 65% of the malware.
Iām sorry, this is completely baffling to me ???
Later
we donāt generate FP on system files. All system files are whitelisted. (i think
)
melih
quick question, does anyone know what version they ran? 3.8 or 3.9 because as we all know CIS had vastly improved in 3.9. 8)
FP count:
Comodo: 54
Dr. Web: waaaaayyyyy to many :o
F-Secure: 254 malware and 2,642 extra files
McAfee: 74
So comodo is still leading the bunch. ![]()
Dont think he said 3.9 or 3.8, most likely 3.9 because of the date,
and every one has to take into account that in alll of that malware there must have been a worm that downloaded extra malware, meaning it wasnt FP it was downloaded malware.
Nonsense. Who tests a system with Internet connection on ? 88)
+1, very nice indeed. Sure FPs must be eliminated or at least reduced, but still, the CAV result is great.
Detection tests are to be considered as indicators for me. I think this test can be one indicator of CAV becoming very good in terms of detection.
What was his set of clean files ???
Where were those false alarms found ?
To be honest I havenāt been expecting COMODO to do so well and Iām very gratified I have been disabused of this. Great work!
To hell with FPs >:-D.
Thanks once again for a great piece of software and keep up the good work :ilovecomodo:
You never know Cocktail that guy could well be the first one. ;D
Peace.
Iāve never changed it from default (low) and Iāve had a dozen or so. More if you count CIS continually āfindingā things in my system restore files.
From this
The installation of Windows was fully patched and updated (including SP3) as of Jan. 8, 2009.I'd say that test was made in January otherwise I don't see a valid reason to test today with MS Jan. updates. ??? So probably is CIS 3.8. Beta AFAIK CIS 3.8 final was released on Feb. 12 2009. Confusing...
You all seem to be assuming that CIS found all the malware and only 54 FPs.
I donāt think he says that. It would be good to know what was detected, as it could have been 500 missed and 554 FPs, unless I am missing something. ???
If that were the case, then the test results for the various programs wouldnāt mean much because none of the detections or FPs reported for any of the programs would be accurate.
I think this guy ā ā ā ā ā ā ā up even more than I did when doing my av comparison test⦠;D ;D
I donāt believe Comodo, DrWeb CureIt, F-Secure and McAfee all found ALL the 36,438 samples⦠But maby⦠If he collected them from the same source⦠=)
