Hoping someone (ideally from Comodo) can answer why the same version of CIS (in this case the latest v6 build) installed on 3 personal computers with the SAME exact settings … generate Defense+ pop-ups for different applications instead of all three generating the same pop ups exspecially as they are all running the same signatures ?
For example … on one PC, I have the Google Update Engine (for Chrome) constantly alerting to access COM and registry keys … where as the same build of Chrome won’t do that on the other 2 PC’s.
This is just a simple example and I have other apps that do the same thing on the other 2 PC’s.
How do I know the configs are the exact same? Don’t answer this question as it is rhetorical. I will treat all three computers separately.
Are you using a configuration from one PC which you subsequently imported in the other two? Are all computers running the same OS?
For example ... on one PC, I have the Google Update Engine (for Chrome) constantly alerting to access COM and registry keys .... where as the same build of Chrome won't do that on the other 2 PC's.
This looks like it is running in v5 style sandbox. Did you import a v5 configuration in v6?
This is just a simple example and I have other apps that do the same thing on the other 2 PC's.
Would be good to know… Thanks
Since the questions are about three computers I suggest to start separate topics for all three computers. Otherwise this topic will become very hard to manage and keep track of.
Please do the following for all three of your computers. Please make sure there are no leftovers of security programs you had installed in the past. A possible left over can cause all sort of “strange effects”. Please run clean up tools for all security programs you had in the past. A list can be found here at the Eset website: ESET Knowledgebase .
I will keep this topic for the question about the Google Updater.
