I’ve just installed Arovax AntiSpyware and ran a scan whereby it revealed Realspy & Sherlock Keylog. These are both keylog spyware.
Before I ran the Arovax scan, I scanned my computer with Avast anti virus v4.7; Ad-aware 2007 (free edition); Spyware Terminator; CC Clean; Panda AntiRoot kit and Web Security Guard.
My PC is also protected by Comodo Pro Firewall V.3; Comodo BOClean and SpyBlaster.
None of the aforementioned were able to prevent or reveal the 2 key loggers except Arovax AntiSpyware.
So I have to strongly recommend it. It’s also very easy to use and free. (:CLP)
Arovax AS has got a lot of FP’s.
Some times ago i installed Arovax AS, then i scaned with it, oh!! i have got spyware, then i deleted those entries. I had got problems because i deleted important registry entries
Today i formated my PC, well, i use NOrton Ghost and i have got a back up file with a fresh install(only all Win updates, all drivers and Office). I only installed AVAST AV, CFP, CMF, Win Patrol and ST. Right now i installed Arovax AS and scaned my system and found:
The last update for Arovax was Sept 2007? In spyware terms that’s a lifetime.SAS has very active development and updates (usually daily).AVG is a competent performer too,Spyware Terminator is useful as a basic HIPS and if the ClamAV module is installed picks up a range of malware.
The difficulty with deciding on which AS to go for is that, unlike AV comparitives, there isn’t much data on how effective these are in the real world.User feedback is the main indicator for which to go for.
I’ve been running an AV for over a decade, a firewall for, hmm, eight years now…
Last year decided to check out the AS scene given all the news coverage.
CounterSpy, Ewido, AVG, SAS… each lasted a few months on the box before it was ditched.
Going over six months now without any.
IMO dedicated AS software is overrated and a waste of resources. :-TD
