High CPU and RAM usage [I51]

I don’t know why Comodo taking up 25-30% of total CPU usage and 2.5GB out of 4GB RAM. It has made my system total useless. So I have to remove it currently.

Before removing CIS from system, here’s detail of my system:

  1. operating system: win7 x64
  2. security software installed: latest stable comodo internet security
  3. other software installed: comodo cloud v2.2, skydrive, comodo dragon, PHPstorm, office 2013, etc.
  4. Bug: cmdagent.exe taking up 25-30% of total CPU usage and 2.5GB out of 4GB RAM.
  5. How did I try to solve issue:
    a. tried to kill cmdagent.exe process. Eventually process restart itself and self issue repeats
    b. closed CIS application. But cmdagent.exe keeps on running in background with same issue
    c. restarting windows didn’t help

This is certainly not expected behavior. Therefore, my first thought would be to try reinstalling CIS by following the advice I give in this post. Be sure to boot into Safe Mode after uninstalling CIS normally. Then run the CIS removal tools from Safe Mode. Also from Safe Mode you should run the removal tools for any anti-malware programs which used to be installed, but are now removed.

From what I’ve seen these sort of resource problems are often caused by remnants from older versions of CIS or other anti-malware products, even if they are not running and are no longer installed.

However, if this does not solve the problem, please edit your first post so that it is in the format provided here. This ensures that the devs will have enough information to replicate and fix the bug.

Couldn’t check it coz its my work pc, I am facing problem on. I couldn’t make any changes on it. But I am glad, CIS is doing great job on my home desktop and laptops.

No problem. In that case please try reinstalling it by following those methods sometime in the next few days. I’ll send a reminder in about two days, but as always, if you’re too busy it’s not a problem.

For the time being I will move this to the Non-Format Verified board.

Topics in this board are rarely looked at by the devs, and even if they are it is unlikely the devs can fix the bugs reported. The reason is that putting bug reports in the required format, with the required files, ensures that the devs have enough information to understand and identify the bug. Thus, without this it becomes very difficult to replicate a bug such as yours.

Can you please check and see if this is fixed with the newest version (7.0.313494.4115)? Please respond to this topic letting us know whether it is fixed or if you are still experiencing the problem.
