Hi-jacked AOL email address book

Hello:

I have subscription to COMODO Firewall Pro.

My wife uses VISTA PRO w/all updates on ACER TM laptop.

In last week or so, somehow, (as subject says) her entire AOL email address book has been used to send those in list VIAGRA ads… embarrasing to say the least, but security concern more troublesome.

I have not kept up w/“threats”, do not know what common hijacking stunts going on out there.

Can anyone tell me what, or where to look, in order to identify/clean/protect against this? Is this a common hack?

She has only free COMODO installed, I am using my PRO version only on laptop, so I believe my license allows me to install a PRO version on her computer.

Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Is the email address book in the email account or on the computer??? I'm willing to bet she click on a link, picture, pdf or a doc file in email sent to her OR someone guess "correctly" on what the e-mail password was

I personally wouldn’t click on those even from a trusted user because you won’t know if that trusted user had there e-mail hijacked until it’s too late and you are already compromised.

I recommend changing the password to a long one and/or get a new e-mail account
