Win 7 64 at the end of shutdown i.e when windows is shutting down & then it shuts, exactly at this time when it shuts there is a sound like “tak”. Is it normal with win 7 or any prob here? If prob, any solution?

Without hearing the sound, it’s impossible to say.
It could be the heads on your HDD parking, your fan turning off, etc…
As HeffeD explained; It’s nearly impossible to say without hearing it;
Is the sound coming from your speakers? your tower/laptop? if so where is the sound most loud?
If I mute the sound & then shutdown the system then the sound is not there. So does this mean it may be a function in win 7 & not the system prob?

Not necessarily…
Do you have external speakers? Does it make the same sound if you unplug them from the wall?
Then the sound comes from the audio sub system of your computer. When not muting an amplifier when it gets turned off it may produces switching noises. Nothing to worry about.
I always mute my amp when I turn it off.
Sorry I dont have external speakers.

For info
This system had Vista 64. When I received a free copy of Win 7 64 Upgrade & Assistant Upgrade from HP, I did a fresh install of Win 7 i.e format & install, formatted & deleted the Recovery Manager of Vista too & partition the system during install C - 155 GB & Unallocated - 310 GB. After Win 7 install completed, from disk management I did the procedure to name & format the Unallocated drive. Then updated drivers with Assistant Upgrade & completed all the windows updates. No prob in doing any thing. Only once I received a blue screen related to display driver & it was solved when HP support downloaded & installed the latest display driver.
Only this sound thing after shutdown. One thing, I dont know this may be the prob, but the assistant upgrade disc installed a patch for recovery manager for Vista - Its a patch for Win 7 upgraded on Vista. But this is a fresh install & recovery manager has been deleted. The patch install was automatic by the assistant upgrade disc.
Any info I can provide so that you may be able to know if its installation, driver or any other prob or its just normal. The sound is like “TAK” as I have mentioned in my first post.
The sound was not there when Vista was installed. When Win 7 installed the sound appeared. I thought may be some installation prob so installed again but the same thing.

For starters realise that when switching down analogue electronics it will likely create a tak or plop noise.
If there is a connection to software then the difference you are noticing may be as simple as the driver not switching on a mute transistor at the output of the audio unit (this is based on the assumption there is such as a mute transistor and that a driver can actually do this).
May be Win 7 switches down components in a different order than Vista making it more prone to a louder switch noise… supposing there would be such differences in the first place.
Try updating the drivers for your audio card/chip. Other than that switch off the speakers before closing down Windows. When I switch off my amp I always mute it (I do that on automatic pilot). Not something to worry too much about.
You said try updating the drivers. How should I go for updates? i.e Windows Updates shows an Optional Update for Audio of 4mb & HP site shows the latest driver for audio of 27mb, which one should I go with?
If I go with the HP one then I have to uninstall the driver or I have to download & instal the latest driver directly?

I would go to the website of the manufacturer of the used audio chip. They have the latest. Windows update and OEM’s update pages are often behind on the releases of the manufacturers.
What audio solution is used in your computer? If you don’t know use SIW to see what is on your motherboard.
The driver version on my system for audio is 6.10.1.2077 & on the HP site it is 6.10.6225.0 A. Now which one is the latest? Its Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI.

Why don’t you look on the Intel site for your chip set, it will be the most recent.
Chipset & Audio are the same thing? Coz on HP site they are different
They are different things. Chipset handles the communication between CPU and the rest of the motherboard. The audio drivers only helps Windows to handle the audio solution.
But I cant find the download for the Intel High Definition Audio. It shows download for Realtek High Definition Audio, If I search for the term
Look for your chip set, then find the information, if it uses a realtelk audio chip, which is likely, download the appropriate driver for your audio chip.
The chipset is intel. How can I find which audio it uses. The chipset too I downloaded & installed from HP site which was listed under the model for my system.

Can you tell me the make and model of the motherboard, or if it’s a notebook, the make and model, along with any specific model codes.
Alternatively, do as Eric has already suggested and download SIW, or SIV or even the Intel ® Chipset Identification Utility If, for some reason, you don’t want to download anything, go to Intel® Driver & Support Assistant ad see what it finds.
