Hi!
I installed comodo firewall recently, and I’m quite happy with it, there’s only a little thing annoying me:
I have a device in my living room ( running linux) connected to my computer with a crossover cable, which permits me to access my computer through CIFS. The only problem is that when comodo firewall is on then the device can not mount the folders, though internet access still works. The message that shows on the log is one of these two:
Date/Time :2006-09-06 21:14:12
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Application Monitor
Description: Application Access Denied (System:192.168.0.93:nbsess(139))
Application: System
Parent: System
Protocol: TCP In
Destination: 192.168.0.93:nbsess(139)
Date/Time :2006-09-06 21:13:21
Severity :Medium
Reporter :Application Monitor
Description: Application Access Denied (System:192.168.0.93:MS-ds(445))
Application: System
Parent: System
Protocol: TCP In
Destination: 192.168.0.93:MS-ds(445)
I allow TCP/UDP traffic in/out in any port in this connection.
I downloaded and installed the latest version today, and I also have those two log messages concerning nbsess and MS-ds. Seems as if the bug is there again, doesn’t it?
Background info: I get those messages when trying to access Samba shares inside my VMware Linux image (bridged networking). I guess it does not matter that it is VMware and not a dedicated host, but I thought I should mention it anyway, just to be on the safe side.
