Help! I failed over at ShieldsUp!

Look at my report below. I was shocked. I wont mention the name of the other free firewall I used to use (its a major brand name) but it showed ALL ports as stealth (let alone just closed) and that was without any settings needing to be changed. Don’t want to go back to that other firewall because I’m told its a memory hog. Please advise.

Are you behind a router? Then Shields Up is probing your router and not your computer. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for getting back with me on this Eric. Yes, I am actually at the public library, using there free wifi. Would that be whats causing the above report?

In that case you are behind the library wireless router. In that case Shiels Up probes the router’s responses and not your computer. The router and its firewall will discard (almost) all unsolicited incoming traffic. That’s what the router is supposed to do…

I personally look at it as an extra layer of protection
