GUI windows turns all white while using program

I did a complete uninstall of 3.14 using safe mode of WinXP SP3. Did a fresh install of 4.0.

Once when using the “Network Security Policies” tab under Firewall->Advanced, the gui crashed and I couldn’t close the window. The crash looks like the window border still being present, but only filled with white.

When I rebooted to do a first full scan, everyone was working fine until the screen saver clicked in. Once it did, I moved the mouse to check progress, and the av scan window is all white (along with the main GUI windows). It is still doing the scan, since the HD is whirring away and I checked procmon.exe and it’s still churning through files. I just have no way to access the control mechanism to stop or pause.

Any ideas?

Does the problem go away when not using the mentioned screensaver?

Can you post a screenshot of the D+ logs of around the time the screensaver kicks in? The logs can be found under Defense + → Common Tasks → View Defense + Events.
