GUI Crashes on Multiple Versions of CPF (XP SP2, CPF *.265, *.277, AND *.304)

Also, I am running NOD32 ver. 3 for my AV, and Win Patrol 14.

Here is a copy (slightly edited) of a mail i sent in for support, but haven’t heard anything … maybe users on the forum will be able to help

Hello,
I have found that the problem occurs while using versions 3..277 OR 3..295 (upgrading or downgrading (after removing it manually)) didn’t help. I have a few other programs (no software firewalls) running in the background. NOD32 antivirus version 3 AND Win Patrol 14 (freeware) …

I have used Event Log Viewer (freeware) and found this at the time of the crash ... in the "Applications" log:

Description: Faulting application cfp.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module , version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

0000: 41 70 70 6C 69 63 61 74 69 6F 6E 20 46 61 69 6C Application Fail

0040: 30 30 30 0D 0A 000..

This is the ONLY application that does this. (I am no pc "EXPERT" or "novice" but if it happened on every program, I'd consider bad/failing Memory).

about 2 minutes after that, in the system log i have seen

"A driver packet received from the I/O subsystem was invalid. The data is the

packet." BUT I AM NOT SURE if that is even related at all to this problem … or just something else …perhaps a problem with the firewall+ driver? …

All I know is that when the program fails, i am locked out of everything (probably because of a “if application (Defense+) is shutdown by a trojan/virus/…etc … block EVERYTHING” feature).

As The Subject_line says … I have tried cleaning my system (manual removal AND running JV16 Power Tools to remove all traces of COMODO PF) … then installed the new ***.304 version … crashes right away … the gui runs … but almost clicking anything (say …“view pending files” (for safe zone) on the summary page … crashes the gui (just one example)

Should also say that I have had 3 on my pc before with no issue … i DID HAVE (NO TRACES OF IT THAT I CAN FIND) BOCLEAN …i removed BOCLean after i installed PF and started to have these errors… not sure if there was a conflict or … its TOTALLY not related …

Thank you all in advanced for any help you can give or other forum posts (with solutions) you can point me to)

I am about to send the crashdump by email ATM (since the programs “autosend crashdump” doesn’t SEEM to be working (i dont think so) … no other programs are crashing/freezing … just thought i 'd post what i was using in case there was a known conflict with one of the other programs.

Also ran Diagnosistics and it says “no problems found with your installation”

again thank you for the help

ah … i think i know it now … they are wondering how to block sites with the firewall (better use a parental control app if you ask me … never used those myself though) so kids that may be on that PC do no go to sites he doesn’t want them to have access to … i think …
