[GUI] Cant see "close" Button on About window..

Hi,

I have seen “about” link of CIS 3.9 Control center.
But I cant see the “close” Button on Right cornor of the window. (please see the Image file).
Since if that so, I cant close the GUI. I had to restart my Windows. On Restarting it resolves itself.
Im eager to to know on what situation that Bug occur, and why?.

Hi,

I’m not a developer so I wouldn’t know how it came. But I see you’re still using BoClean. The standalone version isn’t supported anymore. BoClean is however integrated into CIS now, so you can uninstall BoClean

Best regards,

Xan

You can close it with Escape key.

To get the close button back, go to Miscellaneous, Settings, Themes, (COMODO Style Default Normal), OK.

Hi JoWa,

Ya, i see, i can get it back with ESC key. Thanks.
And hey eXPerience, im using BOCLEAN for testing purpose.
Any way i couldn’t get answer for my question.

-geeva.

Can you give us some more information ?

I am having the exact same issue. It happens sporadically that the top bar for the about window, the updates window, others disappears. For me at least there are no times in which only one of these bars disappears and the other is visible.Besides the tops of the bars disappearing on many windows I do not notice anything else wrong visually. The only way for me to fix this problem is to log off and log back on to Windows.

-I am using Windows XP SP3 (32 bit)
-The only real time security application that I am using is CIS 3.10.102194.530. For on-demand scanning I have Avira, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and a-squared free.
-Both the D+ and firewall are set to safe mode
-With CIS 3.09 I only noticed the about bar and the virus update bar. The others may have been present, but I did not notice them
-I am always logged in as an administrator

I was hoping that this problem would be fixed in 3.10, but it has already happened once. I would really like to know what bug is causing this and why it only seems to affect a few users. I have attached screen-shots of many of these below.

I may be totally off base but it looks and sounds like a graphics driver issue. Maybe updating (or rolling back) those drivers would help.

I tried updating the driver to the most recent version. It seemed to fix the problem for a while, but today it returned again.
By the way, I forgot to mention that I have an ATI Radeon HD 4830. I would like to see this problem looked into.

CIS v3.10.102363.531 (VS-DB 1809)

Using whatever the default theme is on install.

Had same experience as others, thought CIS had locked up
and closed browsers and all other opened program, folders.
Being a modal dialog box (about), no other functionality of
CIS available. Was about to reboot when I hit ENTER and the
about box disappeared. Seems that a screen area refresh or
redraw rectangle was not working as it should. Never had any
similar experience with other s/w, and never happened before
or since in CIS.
Would have to think that the problem resided in a dialog
box redraw routine. It would I think be a routine common
to the drawing of both the modal ABOUT dialog box and the
non-modal UPDATES dialog box. The problem could reside in the
actual individual dialog boxes routines (eg About and Update)
as it is quite common for todays developers to use CUT & PASTE
rather than a subroutine, wherever it is, it is common code
causing the problem. Might help to have a more complete
list of dialog boxes that it affects.
Would not expect that any AV, firewall or defence+ settings
would have anything to do with this, nor would I expect other
security s/w to have any involment. As no problems with other
s/w, would not expect video driver to be problem, although
Chiron494 also has an ATI RADEON.

I am using the same Radeon Xpress 200 and have no issues. I’m running the last available Omega drivers on it. Mine is the mobility version though with 128mb of discrete video ram, not shared.

CIS v3.10.102363.531 (VS-DB 1809)

Have only experienced this problem once, within the
last 24 hours, and never in any other s/w (been using
current driver for about 18 months with a very wide
selection of software). Only just viewed Chiron494’s
“Information bar disappeared.JPG”, curious to know
where this was accessed from (within CIS, presumably
not via windows explorer right-click Properties).
Also, is the white block on the right in
“Information bar disappeared.JPG” part of the problem?
It looks rather like whatever routine is doing the
redraw/refresh is not including the title bar in the
coordinates, perhaps comparing a chopped off version
with a complete version would verify this.
Have only just loaded “update bar disappeared.JPG” into
office picture manager at 100%, updated AV and slid the
dialog box alongside the bitmap, seems an exact match up
to the blue of the title bar. Currently running at
1024x768 which was also I believe the resolution in use
at the time of the capture. Not having ever coded on the
PC (not counting a bit of VB), I dont really know if this
could be a video card prob or not but whatever it is,
it’s omitted the title bar.

It is a common thing to experience video problems in a particular piece of software only and for the culprit to wind up being the video drivers. I was having a problem playing Half Life 2, episode 2. I could not get past the starting sequence because the game would crash in a certain spot that could not be avoided. Every other game and program I had worked fine. Updating the video drivers fixed the problem.
