Gone back to Comodo..... [RESOLVED]

How’s the new setup going Korn (to stay on topic (:TNG))

@ Vettetech : Well that’s a program specially made for wilders isn’t it O0

I like the Pro part 8)

It’s got all the great features of PlaceboAV Free edition, plus you can pay $30 a year for it! Awesome!

Vettetech,

I do apologize. Can you tell me how exactly to do that like your screen shots you posted? I feel like such a noob. Appreciate your patients. I also noticed your using webguard with Avira. I did not install that. I can go ahead and put it on if you advise it?

Of course use web guard. Why not. It comes with it and stops anything before you even download something. I like the web guard. To add the files to the firewall simply open up Comodo and go to Firewall\Advanced\Network Security Policy and click add. Add those file from where every you have Avira installed. Make them trusted. Then go to D+\Advanced\Computer Security Policy and and click add. Add those files you see in the screen shot from the directory where you have Avira installed. 90% of the time I manually add things to Comodo. It prevents pop ups and is easier to me. Be sure to change Avira’s updater also.

I tried to manually add like you suggested. No go. Maybe I done some thing wrong. It said cannot add since it already exist. So, I just clicked on edit and made then changes. I hope that will do it. Aviras update… You mean in the previous post? I was looking in the settings to change for every 2hrs as you suggest and set to invisible mode. I could not find either.

Hi KoRn,

With Avira i think its best to run everything once to allow D+ to learn all actions then group them all together in D+ and leave em all as “Custom” except update.exe which you change to “Installer or updater”
If you run the webshield and email scanner you should end up with something like this. You do not get these with the free version.
You should now get no pop up`s

Open up Avira and click on Administration. Then click on scheduler. Highlight daily update and edit it. Presto.

I made the adjustments and got things rolling. Another reason why I had so much security programs on here when online. My father is click happy with porn. He will literally click on any thing and every thing. I have had to resort to OpenDNS to block all porn. So, far it has been great! Once again. Thank you all for your help and patience. It really means a whole lot.

Just installed VLC player. I put CPF into installation mode. When it starts to install. A massive amount of pop ups kept on coming up. I thought since I was in install mode. This would not happen? I must be doing some thing wrong…? This is happening with installing or uninstalling any thing.

Are you putting Comodo in install mode through the main GUI first? Before installing anything I open up Comodo and put it in install mode. Works like a charm. Then if you get another pop up about the install er which sometimes happens just make it an installer/updater. You can slo put D+ in training mode. Its all right here.

Looks like I understand it. Basically on the front of cpf. Switch to install mode and then put D+ in training mode. When finished. Put it back in safe mode and then switch back to the other mode on the front of cpf. If I possibly get another pop up by chance. Then choose as installer/updater. Am I understanding all of this correctly? (:NRD)

Yes…bingo.

Excellent. Thanks buddy! (:KWL)
