Global hooks...and accessing the display

One of many questions to come after installing 3.0, but are global hooks really necessary for programs?
ie - media player classic?
I deny it and the program seems to work fine, as well as accessing the monitor, is that really necessary for some programs?

As for the global hook, I noticed now that for some reason COMODO isn’t asking me about global hooks when I use media player classic, I’m assuming it somehow got permanent permission.
Where do I access it in COMODO for it to prompt me about global hooks and other things.
