GeekBuddy - popup on startup

Hello,

I installed the latest CIS update version 5.4.189822.1355. Whenever I start my computer I now get a popup telling me “Your subscription includes GeekBuddy”. I do not remember seeing an option not to install it. Anyway… The strange thing is that I couldn’t find a trace of GeekBuddy anywhere on the system. There is nothing on the Start menu, Control Panel, Comodo Firewall window, Desktop. There is no mention about it in the release notes of the latest version either.

Does anyone else have this problem? Did GeekBuddy actually install on the system?

From what link did you donwload CIS?

I used the built-in updater

Version v5.4 comes with a screen telling you about Geekbuddy to have your computer fixed. That screen holds a check box that you can tick so it won’t appear again. Is that the screen you are seeing?

Yes … apparently it’s just a message though I was a bit confused at first. I just wanted to make sure that GeekBuddy did not install. Ticked the checkbox and it’s gone now. Thanks!

I had the same popup today, glad I looked at this site to find this post. Thanks.
