There are innumerable discussions online but no definitive answer, as usual.

The question is, if you’re going to mount a gaming rig with a GTX 660, 8 GB of RAM, Win 7 x64, 1680x1050 res and you’re left with a bit over €100 would you go with an AMD FX-6300 or an Intel i3 3220? And why?

I would go for the AMD since it’s a 6 core CPU and an i3 is only 2. I think the AMD would outperform the Intel given the choices. Passmark gives the AMD a score of 6384 while the Intel i3 comes in at 4233. I think that’s a significant difference.
