Frequently *extracted* applications not easily dealt with by D+

Hi,
After upgrade CIS V4.x ( FW + DEF+ only, Vista64 Home Premium SP2 + Avast AV 5 ),

It seems DEF+ has forgotten some of app launching decisions remembered for long time,

  • it seems not to remember at least some decision set to remember.

We would very much appreciate it if you would edit your first post to create an issue report in line with the bug forum guidelines and format here. You can copy and paste the format from this topic.

To understand the reasons why we ask you to follow these guidelines please see below.

WHY WE ASK YOU TO FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
Bugs/issues can be impossible or very time consuming to fix if developers don’t have enough information to reproduce them. Since CIS is free, development time is limited. So if you want your issue fixed, please use the format below to describe it.

To avoid clutter, issues not described in the format below your post will not be moved to the ‘moderator verified’ issues topic. This means that the developers may not look at it.

Best wishes and many thanks in anticipation

Topic name was changed to Frequently updated applications not easily dealt with by D+ , but it is misleading, as far as my affected applications are not updated frequently, in fact not at all.

Edit: I will try to follow issue posting guideline as suggested - when return home later this day

It is daily run CMD batch,
calling several times
DVBGuide CLI executable extracting EPG from DVB-T USB tuner
and 2 CLI applications ( cat + sed ) from CYGWIN basic package, processing XML based EPG guides.

This CMD and EXEs are in fact not updated for several months.
D+ claimed EXEs are allowed previously to run, but CMD was claimed unknown.

D+ kept triggerring confirmation dialogs if CMD is allowed to run cat / sed /dvbguide, even if I was confirming yes with decision remembering. ( It was in fact allowed months ago to do so )

finally I have given up and set the CMD batch as system application ( that are allowed to do so by default )

Edit: Note that I had and have sandbox inactive, neither I have been notified about any Sandbox related action, as talked about in FAQ link, provided by mouse1.

Edit2:
I have noticed the affected epg4.cmd was stored in D+ DB twice
old CIS 4.x record c:\utils\epg\epg4.cmd with custom rules
new CIS 5.0 record \utils\epg\epg4.cmd with omitted drive letter ( why ? )
as system application ( as I set it so above )

OK, thanks, I will split these posts, and re-title yours poutnik, if you will fill in a report in standard format

Will do this now

Check out this wish in Sandbox should accommodate constantly changing applications/files. It is about the same.

I made the same assumption but:

This CMD and EXEs are in fact not updated for several months.

@Eric As D+ is hash-based it should be OK, if made a trusted file. That is unless D+ is auto-purging I thought they had stopped that. There are duplicate rules however.

Unfortunately we do need this issue to be reported in the right format, and with all the information we have asked for, if we are to forward it to verified issues.

For the moment I am going to move it to the Orphaned/Resolved child board. If you do manage to edit your post to create a complete issue report in standard format, and PM an active mod, we will of course consider moving it to verified reports.

The devs only look at the Orphaned/Resolved board if they have time, so please do edit the post and PM an active mod if you want it fixed.

Best wishes and many thanks in anticipation
