forums account, unauthorized login attempts

I tried logging in a lil while ago, and it was telling me my password was wrong. after about 15 min i tried again, and it worked…

So if i’m using the same pc i used last, and its forever logged in, it should recognize me. and not be logged in at another location.

IT not doing this, tells me someone was attempting to ddos me, or was attempting to login while i was. Or had entered the pw wrong too many times?

i will change it now =c

When was this? It may have been a typo or hiccup.

I checked the IP addresses from which you connected to Comodo Forums. There were six all belonging to Comcast. I assume that is your provider. Is that right?

6? I may be wrong about this, but i only remember changeing my ip maybe 4 times in the course of using comodo as a whole. despite repeated ddos attacks they have refused to change it from the current one. I wish i could change it every month :-\ Or whenever an attack or virus is reported. Since they haven’t done what i asked, even with supporting evidence, i don’t report anything to comcast anymore. it’s almost like they want these attacks to persist… I asked if they used a fw or anti-v, they replied no…on multiple occasions, but you can download norton… :o what happened to comcast’s protected networks?

You are on cable and cable connections usually have a dynamic IP address. Although you will have the same IP address most of the time. It could change even when you don’t request a change; that is the nature of dynamic IP addresses.

What attacks are you talking about? If an other IP address is constantly trying to access your computer it is best to report that to the abuse department of the other party’s ISP. Other than that that is what you have a firewall for; blocking unsolicited access from third parties.

Having a router in between your modem and your computer also helps here as the router will block the unsolicited access requests.

Assuming your from home and have a cable modem and I'm assuming I read it correctly.

If you can be without the internet for a day or too. A possible idea :-La

Have comcast replace your cable modem with a different one. That way it will have different mac addresses. (I think I worded that right) ???.

But IF they will only replace the cable modem only if it’s defective or not working. <-----Then you’ll know what you need to do, RIGHT :-La >:-D

recent ddos’s

205.188.134.217

64.12.165.106
205.188.4.151

all from reston,va and aol networks sopposedly. I’m assumeing its someone using the airport’s wifi. dulles airport. all are now blocked in case they find a way through the router.

it’s likely a spoof if they are smart… feel free to report them if you like, i’m not trying to p on anyone =/
