Firewall: Slow gigabit throughput on CIS_Setup_3.8 and 3.9

Original threadhttps://forums.comodo.com/firewall_help/firewall_slow_gigabit_throughput_on_cissetup38_and_39-t39719.0.html

Slow gigabit throughput when comodo firewall driver is bound to tcp/ip interface. Gigabit speeds are noticably slower per IPERF. Test results below:

  • Test w/o Comodo FW bound to TCP/IP NIC Interface
  • Test w/ Comodo FW bound and FW/Defense+ Enabled
  • Test w/ Comodo FW bound and FW/Defense+ Disabled

Each test was done twice.
Only Workstation #1 has Comodo installed.
Iperf setup to run 2 processes with 128KByte TCP window size for 30 seconds.
Both computers setup on same Cisco 3560G (GigaBit Switch running at Gigabit).

Additional information on test system.

System:
Dell Latitude D430
60GB SSD drive
2GB Ram
Intel Core2 Duo U7700 @ 1.33Ghz
Broadcom Gigabit nic
Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 (Also, tested it on WinXP SP3 with similar results).

Anyone else experience dramatic slow downs with firewall running?

I’m getting a massive slowdown to a server on a Gigabit network.

From the Windows 7 copy dialog: 8-12MB/s Firewall on
~100MB/s Firewall off. (To the Server, both are running comodo firewall ONLY)

This is a Core i7 860 @3.7GHz with a Realtek Gigabit Controller. I’ll do more specific testing when I have time.

Server is a Xeon E3110 @3.6GHz with a Realtek Gigabit Controller.
