Firewall shuts down after clicking the "Diagnostics" option [RESOLVED]

Hi,

I’ve always been pleased with the Comodo firewall suite. However, I’ve been facing a couple of problems after updating to version 3.8.65951.477:

  1. When I click on the “Diagnostics” option, the firewall shuts down and the icon disappears from the system tray.

  2. Secondly, I remember seeing many options when a new executable/service runs. For example, I remember seeing options like “Trusted Applications” etc. However, all I can see is “Installer or Updater” option. What is wrong? Where am I screwing up? I’ve attached a screenshot also.

  1. I did a system restore and the “Diagnostics” issue seems to have disappeared.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hello.

Nice you got one issue solved.

Do you run any additional security products that you think could interfere with CIS?

Check D+ > advanced > Predifined security policies… If you only got “installer or updater” there then somehow those other rules are missing…

[at] Monkey Boy: Thanks for your response! But I see nothing in the predefined security policies window!!! :frowning:

It simply says “There are no items to show”.

I’ve never faced such a situation before.

Do you think I will need to do a fresh install of CIS?

I also use McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.7.0i, though that has never caused conflicts with Comodo.

If it shows no predefined policies, then IMO I would suggest a clean install to resolve it.

Did a clean Install and the problem vanished. Thanks!

But I would like to know what caused it in the first place.

Is it possible that some of the components got corrupted?

Yes, this is quite possible.
