Hi there,
I’ve just discovered that all my security applications are now turned off. I’ve entered the security control panels for applications, component & network & they are all off. When I try to turn them on, they don’t work…? Thge ‘radio’ button don’t function at all I’m afraid…
May I have help on this please as my firewall doesn’t now provide any safety at all…Thanks,
Mike
G’day Mike,
Are you currently logged in under the same account that the installation was done under?
If it’s installed under an admin (or equivalent) account and then used under a limited user account, you will get just what you’re reporting, an inability to change security settings.
Not saying this is the only cause, just trying to rule out the easy ones first.
Cheers,
Ewen
Hi there,
To answer your question… yes I’m logged on as the Administrator. It was installed into the admin. account as well. There are three other account’s, but these are all ‘limited’.
I should be able to access & re-set the security settings, but I cannot for some reason.
Mike
Did this happen immediately after the installation? If not, did you install or re-activate any other security-type software after the install of CFP?
Ewen
No, nothing like that. This has been running on my family Pc for a few weeks now with no issues’… The only thing that corresponds to this time frame may have to do with a tech. friend trying to set up a network for me betwwen the two Pc’s we have in this room. Both have Comodo, but my Pc is fine…?
Cheers,
Mike
Can you get him to reverse whatever he did and then come back here and we’ll step you through how to network using CFP.
Cheers,
Ewen
No unfortunately. He lives quite a long way away across the other side of this city & wouldn’t be able to come over. I’ll speak with him soon to see when it maybe like he’ll come over this way again & get back to you then.
Thanks,
Mike
