Hello,
I installed the Comodo Firewall a week or so ago and just realized that the little icon that should be in the taskbar is not there after the computer is started and I have to go to programs and click on the folder for the firewall to get it started. Why is that? I never had that issue with the program when it was installed on my older laptop running windows vista home premium.
This computer is running windows 8.1 64-bit version. How do I set it up to start on startup? I do know that I changed the setting so that the widget is not in the top corner of my screen all the time and that is about the time (I am guessing) that the firewall icon was no longer in the taskbar. Any assistance on how to get the firewall to start automatically like it does on my laptop and like my anti-virus program does would be greatly appreciated.
I have been going through the guide but I just have not been able to find it and I have been trying to figure this out for a few days now.
Will review all of that information and see if I can get mine to start showing up in the sys tray. I did decide to check the task manager and it shows comodo there but it is not showing up in the sys tray and I am not sure that it is actually working unless I click the icon in the programs folder. Perhaps my problem will be resolved with the information in that link.
The fix that is offered on that link worked to resolve the missing icon in the system tray
The version that is installed is 7.0.317799.4142
I clicked on the download for cistray-fix 1, opened the zip file, and clicked on the registration entry that was there and then restarted the computer and the icon is now in my system tray. Thanks So Very Much. I thought that I was going to have to do some multiple step uninstall, and then start all over again but this was so easy Thanks Again :-TU
