Firewall (not CIS) ver. 3.8.65951.477

  1. I have only Comodo Firewall, just updated to version 3.8.65951.477 . Does this product no longer exist, i.e., is there no longer a standalone firewall that is not hooked into a Comodo AV app?

  2. Since the update, IE no longer operates. It just cycles and hangs instead of connecting. There was no specific rule for IE, since I generally use Firefox. So I created a rule to see if that would loosen things up, but it has made no difference. Any idea what could be causing this behavior?

Under the firewall rules, IE should be listed as a browser (predefined rule).

The predefined rules offer sets of rules for web browsers, and under the policies I could set IE to use the browser rules, but (a) IE is not itself listed anywhere in the predefined rules, and (b) it was not listed in the custom ruleset, either, until I put it in there. There’s something else somewhere that’s interfering with IE’s functioning.

Try temporarily disabling the firewall and D+. Test IE, then enable the same settings that CIS was on before you disabled.


Did IE work while D+ and the FW were disabled?
