Firewall Interfering with Firefox?

I just started having an issue where Mozilla Firefox (3.6.9) locks up for a LONG time, then crashes, if the firewall is turned on. If I turn the firewall off, everything is fine, but as soon as I turn it on, it takes about 5-8 clicks before it locks up and says “Not responding.”

Seems more likely to happen on sites where I have to log in or am logged in using cookies.

I’ve been using these two programs together for years, and I’m not sure why this changed except that someone else using the computer while I was away says they clicked on “Block” for one firewall event that came up. Unfortunately, they don’t remember what it was.

I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox already…help!!

If this behavior comes from a firewall rule, it is very easy to delete (the only needed rule is allow tcp out to http ports), so i believe it rather comes from defense+.

Run Regseeker and “clean the registry”: find and delete the appropriate comodo firefox rule.
