Firewall does not block Application

Hi All

I got a question about firewall rules.If I set for example Windows media player as blocked application in Application Rules ( see attached screenshot ) it doesn`t work .Windows media player is still able check for updates and play internet radios . My firewall and D+ is set to safe mode . Let me know if more informations is needed .Thanks

All looks fine as far as I can see. The only thing that comes to mind right now is to check that the Firewall Behaviour Settings is not set to deactivated. Also let the Diagnostics wizard run; it can be found under Miscellaneous.

I don’t know about internet radio, but WMP updates can be blocked in Firewall> Advanced> Network Security Policy. Locate C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\setup_wm.exe. Right-click> select Edit. At Network Access Rules select Use a Predefined Policy> Blocked Application. Press Apply> Apply to save.

Internet radio may be played by the Media Player plugin and may therefore escape the block.
