Firewall 10 installation problem

Hi

A couple of days ago I encountered a BSO with Firewall 10 ( the free version), I am on Win 7:

On Thu Thu 31 Aug 2017 23:52:22 GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\090117-46347-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: cmdhlp.sys (cmdhlp+0x2864)
Bugcheck code: 0x100000D1 (0x4, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFFFFF8BD01175)
Error: CUSTOM_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\cmdhlp.sys
product: COMODO Internet Security Helper Driver
company: COMODO
description: COMODO Internet Security Helper Driver
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: cmdhlp.sys (COMODO Internet Security Helper Driver, COMODO).
Google query: COMODO CUSTOM_ERROR

Rather than fiddle around I downloaded cmd_fw_installer_6113_c7.exe which said that I had to uninstall the previous first which I did and tried again. Unfortunately when the computer restarted another program stopped the execution of a vbs file which I presume to be related to the new installation which caused CmdAgent to stop working.

Ever since I’ve found it impossible to install the firewall with a message coming up saying " In order to continue, you need to restart your computer. Would you like to restart it now" Nothing happens when I reboot the computer.

I have removed the program from my D: drive with an Unsinstaller since it was not listed in Add Remove Programs but the notice still appears ( see attached screen shot - this when tried just now as a last resort to install the premium version in Safemode) and in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CIS_Backup_{25B9C8A9-7B0C-4f9c-AF29-59A5608704F9} - Configs there are some eight entries - again presumably reflecting the attempts made at reinstalling the firewall.

Something is preventing / blocking the installation. Here is the content of the cmdinstall.exe_17-09-02_19.39.43.log zipped file in my Temp folder:

Any help in solving this will be much appreciated as I have used Comodo for years and not previously encountered any such problems and difficulties.

Try to first run this tool and then go to programs & features to uninstall CIS, then reboot. Then run this removal tool and reboot when it finishes. Then grab the installer from the release topic here and install. Note do not use 3rd party uninstall tools such as revo uninstaller as it may cause more issues.
