False Positive (ProductKeyExplorer.exe)

Comodo BOClean Version 4.27 detects the Version 2.09 of Product Key Explorer as a trojan. I have had to add it to the Program Excluder fot it to run.

I am also running Mcafee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5iu and have scanned it also with the latest a-squared Free and had no detections.

I have uploaded it to http://www.virustotal.com and 3 of the 34 came back as suspicious

CAT-QuickHeal 9.50 2008.09.06 (Suspicious) - DNAScan
Panda 9.0.0.4 2008.09.08 Suspicious file
Webwasher-Gateway 6.6.2 2008.09.09 Virus.Win32.FileInfector.gen (suspicious)

Hi thefly

It could be a false positive …

Can you please email the file to: malwaresubmit [ at ] comodo.com .
Specify in the subject line " BOClean False Positive ? ".
Zip and password protect it with " infected " and include that information in the body.

Thank you m8

Greetz, Red.

Just to inform everyone that this false detection has now been fixed. I removed the Exclusion and tried this again and there was no detection found.
Thanks very much.
The Fly.
