Here’s what I did:
-
I wanted to try out the Defense+ quarantine, so I put Adobe Updater there, with the path of:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5\AdobeUpdater.exe -
I launched Adobe Reader 8, and chosed “Check for updates” (or likewise) from the Help menu. Nothing happened, as expected.
-
After that, I opened up the Log Viewer of CFP.
-
Now, in the Defense+ Logs section, I see this:
Application: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Reader\Reader\AcroRd32.exe
Action: Block File
Target: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5
Date: [current] -
I shut down all Adobe related applications.
-
In the tree on the left side, where there is Today, This Week etc. I started to click on these. Now some false log began to show up, all with the following look:
Application: C:\Program Files\Comodo\Firewall\cfplogvw.exe
Action: Block File
Target: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater5
Date: [current] -
The more I continue to click on Today, This Week, This Month, All The Times - and even the main choice Defense+ Logs - even more log entries are created, with the layout of 6) above.
Kind of strange, why would cfplogvw.exe block Updater5 (folder) when nothing Adobe is even running, just because of a click to sort the log entries by time period!
Thanks,
/LA
