Failure in update

Hello, I used your internet security system for over a year. You truly have a masterwork product whom I like very much.

However, here is an issue I tried to correct many times, and getting desperate doing so.

Each time I try to update (since around 2 months ago) CIS, the following error message appear:
see attached image.

I use windows vista service pack 2, my internet connection work perfectly(I tried updating other programs), and i tried to reinstall 2 times without success.

I’m a kind of noob in computers, so I need professional help. Thank you in advance.

The bug/issue

    Trying to update Comodo

    Succesfull update

    comodo reinstallation

  5. If its an application compatibility problem have you tried the application fixes here?:
    No other of my installed applications are in contradiction to Comodo.

  6. Details & exact version of any application (execpt CIS) involved with download link:
    None

  7. Whether you can make the problem happen again, and if so exact steps to make it happen:
    Just try to update Comodo, it will happen again.

  8. Any other information (eg your guess regarding the cause, with reasons):
    No idea, seriously.

Your set-up

  1. CIS version, AV database version & configuration used:
    No idea, Im noob.

  2. a) Have you updated (without uninstall) from CIS 3 or 4:
    No

  3. a) Have you imported a config from a previous version of CIS:
    No

  4. Have you made any other major changes to the default config? (eg ticked ‘block all unknown requests’, other egs here.):
    No

  5. Defense+, Sandbox, Firewall & AV security levels: D+= , Sandbox= , Firewall = , AV =
    All to safe mode

  6. OS version, service pack, number of bits, UAC setting, & account type:
    Windows Vista, 64bits, service pack2(or 3 I dont know)

  7. Other security and utility software installed:
    Avast, Super anti spyware, Spybot S&D.

  8. Virtual machine used (Please do NOT use Virtual box):
    None

    Windows Vista, 64bits, service pack2(or 3 I dont know) UAC Default or Disabled Account Type Adminstrator or Limited

Looking at the image you provided it seems you are running v3.x. Updates for the av of this version are no longer supported.

If you want to keep on using the Comodo AV you need to update to v5.1. It is not possible to import your old v3.x configuration in v5.x. You will have to start clean.
