Export settings

Is there any way to save (export) the firewall settings?

  1. Last updates forced me to uninstall, boot, install again: settings were lost.
  2. If there is a way, which files and Windows registry keys should be saved?

(The problem with Windows Security Center is still there

export the following key and its subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Software\Personal Firewall
then import them back after install

From what I’ve read, you’ll have to either shut CPF down or set it to allow all during the import to get around it’s registry protection.

Thanks Marc.
I’ll try before next update

Hey Tech,

After all the help you’ve given me on the Avast! boards, it’s the least I could do.

Marc, I’m not used to ask for help… but, sometimes, it’s good to us to see that we can’t manage everything, can’t know everything. Knowing our limits… Indeed, firewall is not my beach (yet ;D).

It will be good if Comodo has an option in the GUI to export the settings
Like Kerio, Outpost, etc. Anyway, even these firewalls export ‘some’ settings but not the rules…
It’s a nightmare start all over again since from the beginning.

This thread seems to have the same purpose of this one:
