Error 109 "no internet connection" during update

when I click the link it tells me no internet connection just like the updater does I love tis product but it is letting me down. I have 2 computers here and one will update the other will not they are both less than 6 month’s old… !ot!

Can you tell us a bit more about the system that is not updating ?
Are we talking about the AV database updates ?

What’s the OS Version 32/64 bit ?
What was your previous version of CIS ?

av and firewall there was another post I just read they are having the exact same problem. 32 bit ver gives error 109 no internet connection on this computer and updates fine on the other. This one was installed yesterday ver 3.9

Can you tell us a bit more about your network setup for this computer ?
Are you able to browse the web with it ?

Can you go to http://download.comodo.com and see if that loads ?

I am using it right now it is a gateway internet connection so is the other one running through a dlink 40 port hub my internet is dsl

no it does not load but if I click the diagnose connection button it tells me there is nothing wrong with my connection and I can surf and d/l anything else.

You can’t access http://download.comodo.com ?

Can you try the following, open a command-box and type

ping download.comodo.com

Press ENTER after that and it should respond like this:
C:\Data>ping download.comodo.com

I am lost as to wich command box you are reffering to I am using ie 8

Start → Run → Type CMD

When the CMD window opens, type what Ronny stated at the prompt.

Try pinging the following hosts:

ping.symantec.com

Let us know what happens.

yahoo and tweakers work good symantec said it was not available

symantec is working now I typed it wrong

Just to make sure it was not a temporary problem please ping download.comodo.com again.

Try running a traceroute to download.comodo.com and posting a screenshot of the results for us to look at.

Then there is a problem with the name resolving.
So you can’t ping download.comodo.com can you try to ping it on ip number ?

If this works the problem is somewhere in the host file or in your DNS setup.
Can you try this in the same command-box
