Email virus scan Outlook Express blocked

When I load Outlook Express my AVG virus scanner is blocked by the firewall. How do I allow it to run?

6/25 Just reloaded CPF version 2.2.0.11 and used the option “Skip advanced security checks” in both AVGEMC.exe and AVGCC.exe AND I STILL COULD NOT USE MY OUTLOOK EXPRESS EMAIL. What have I left undone ?

I also run AVG and use OE6 and the skip check works for me.

I looked through my application rules and I see that I use skip checking for “avginet.exe”
as well as for avgemc.exe. Perhaps you also need to specify skip checking for avginet.exe?

Also make sure you specify skip check on all the the occurrences of avgemc.exe you have in your application rules. I had 4 or 5 of them at one time. I found that skip checking was only needed on a couple of them although to be safe I checked them all. For some reason I only have 2 entries now.
