email backup

Had to do full re-install of windows xp on hard disk and using email backup did back up to external drive before formatting hard drive. When try to restore the email backup it copies outlook express files fine but won’t restore the thunderbird files. Can’t select individual files to restore - is there a way to extract individual files from an email backup or any suggestions how can fix?

Hi

You can try the new version of Comodo BackUp 3.0 to restore the files.
This version is still in BETA but it might help you recover the thunderbird files.
If thunderbird files are not restored, please post a screenshot with the restore log.

Thanks

Hi

Have downloaded Beta version and tried to restore again but not resolved. Had further issue with v3.0 not accessing my external hard-drive for the back up file but will post that on the beta forum. Where does the restore log get saved in XP?

Thanks

In 2.2 version the restore log is saved in the installation folder. You can enable logging to file in settings tab.
In BETA version, logging to file does not work properly, so you can post a screen-shot with log.

Thanks

Thanks - screenshot attached

Hello,

Emails from Mozilla Thunderbird can be restored only after you have set up your account(s) in the same way they were when they were backed up.Mainly the accounts have to have the same name as before so emails will be restored in the right place and not risking overwriting something else. Please try this and please provide further feedback.

Thank you.
