DVD rom drives not working after install [RESOLVED]

When i installed the new version both dvd-rom drives stop working. The system properties say drivers are corrupt or missing. I tried the reg clean and then clean install but no luck. I did a system restore and the old version of comodo was still working and both drives were were there. Then i tried just uninstalling the old version and my drives disappeared again. What gives?

Reinstall Windows!
Never happend to me.

Have you tried uninstalling the drives from Device Manager and letting Windows find them and reinstall the drivers? Don’t know why they should be corrupted, but “find new hardware” fixes most of these things.

I had that same problem years ago. It was not related to Comodo or any other software. I think I found the answer in Microsoft’s web site. Also check this site for clues. It has over 400 issues listed with registry patches. Look under tweaks.

I figured out what to do, had to clean the registry out. I used a rather good regcleaner called http://www.wisecleaner.com/. Before I unistalled the previous version COMODO, I cleaned the registry and that fixed it, was suprised and just happy that it worked :BNC
