Does CIS have problems with VMware like in VirtualBox ??

Hi everybody

Plz watch the attached video , xpkeylogger is detected on the real machine and it’s not on the VMware latest version !.

VMware = Xp sp3 fully updated.

Real machine = Vista sp2 fully updated.

CIS 5.3 fully updated installed on both machines.

The undetected program is attached ( don’t worry it’s not a malware , it’s a commercial keylogger )

Can anybody reproduce that issue ??

I haven’t tested this but it could be that the VMWare intercept keyboard/mouse driver causes this.

I tried to reproduced the error; but all i got was a ‘malware’ detection, and if i allowed that i did get a ‘keyboard’ alert…

I’m not sure I understand what u mean.

Is the attached key logger detected on your VMware (xp sp3) as a malware or no ?

Yes, Oncei downloaded the keylogger, CIS detected it (on VMware XP Pro SP3)
Same result on host machine (Win7 x64)

I get an alert with VMWare Player 3.1.3

Win XP Pro SP3, fully updated.
