Some say that there are 3rd. party utilities that may work in repairing the MBR. I have seen no proof of this. Just speculation.

That’s just talk. It has been mentioned before in theory but no one has done it because it can’t be done.

Whereas members mentioned the HD was unbootable there were also those who confirmed that using Testdisk they were able to solve the MBR corruption issue (even at advice from others)

Thankfully, at advice from others ran “TestDisk” Partition Recovery and File Undelete which scanned the harddrive for missing partitions and then highlighted the right one and the selected “Write” to write the structure to disk and then restarted. BINGO the drive letter and it’s contents were there back intact.

I used the tool TestDisk (e.g. found on UBCD4Win) to rewrite the MBR and the partition information. -

Of course there could be other tools able to fix the MRB…

I didn’t know about TestDisk; I ran MbrFix which set it back to when I first had CTM installed.
