Thank you for the feedback! We will be addressing the issue.

I have some display displacement errors (launch pad and alerts) too upon installation of Comodo Personal Firewall 2.0. I’ve notified support but so far no news from them.

G’day,
Your screenshots look like its an issue placing dialogue box objects on the screen, possibly a font issue as well. Have you installed an alternative window handler, like Window Blinds etc.?
ewen
didnt have any alternative windows handler like Windows Blinds in my laptop.
am not sure how to check the font issue…have tried quite a few personal firewall before and none have such issue…
I have the exact same problem on my computer as well. It appears to be a windows placement issue cause the windows always appear on the extreme right hand side of my screen with half the window cut off. When you drag the window is stays cut off. Heard good things about the firewall but due to this issue can not even get past starting it up. Sad had high hopes for this free firewall…
We will look into this asap.
thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Melih
have been hearing good things about the firewall but too bad cant try it since v2.0 due to such display bug.
hope you can solve it plus the RAM and CPU utilization level in future release
Same problem, on my Win XP Dell laptop. Changed from Big Fonts to Normal and everything displayed OK. This is all well and good, but my old eyes need the bigger fonts…

Comodo are excellent with looking into problems and solving them, so hopefully you will get a response / update soon.

Worry not guys!
This is being looked into as I write this.
thanks

It should not be a font problem on a 21 inch widescreen Monitor in 1680 by 1050 resolution… Plus I am using “Normal” Fonts!! It seems to be a window placement issue… The window as stated before is to the extreme right hand side of the the screen. When I say extreme I mean to the point where 1/2 to 3/4 is not visable and does not become visable when you move it either. Just wondering are the others having this issue also using wide screen monitors?? Hope you get this resolved.
Same problem. Can’t read all the alerts, so I can’t set up the firewall. Gotta go back to the standby until it’s fixed. Let me know. Thanks.
Same issue on my 15" widescreen compaq nx7010.
Unfortunately with my dodgy eyesight normal fonts at 1680x1050 give me too much eye strain.
just read about comodo last week at www.download.com…
screen aspect ratio 4:3…
installed the firewall…
it is much better than zonealarm…
sometimes I have to shutdown zonealarm…
to check outlook express and internet…
sometimes… not all the time…
i’m still using AVG for virus…
when will comodo release the final AV (non-beta)?
screen aspect ratio 16:10…
firewall alerts unreadable…
revert back to zonealarm…
will install comodo av when it is final version (not beta)
can i get notification to my email when it is final version?
michaelpo@gmail.com
does comodo have a weekly or monthly newsletter?
how ? where do i subscribe to the newsletter?
Have you guys made any progress regarding this issue?? Sent an E-Mail to tech support as well have not heard a thing from them as well… Was hoping to try this firewall but this is a program stopping bug. Am not using large fonts seems to be a placement issue or maybe due to either my 1680 X 1050 rez or due to the widescreen not sure…
We have fixed the display bug, its being tested. Hopefully it will be released next week. (hopefully it will also solve your problem)
thanks

In this thread, you don’t mention the DPI setting as a factor in this problem. Windows allows you to increase the size of screen elements by using a higher DPI value to compensate for higher screen resolutions. The standard setting is 96 DPI. Most newer computers allow screen resolutions up to 1280 x 1024. If you use one of these higher resolutions, you need to increase to 120 DPI to compensate for the teeny letters and images on the screen.
If you increase the DPI from 96 to 120, many of the screen features / popups in CPF will render improperly, thus your incomplete popup windows. Since the buttons will not show up in these truncated windows, you can’t take action to allow/disallow the activity. The computer is effectively “frozen”, since you can’t close the window and the network is blocked. Most programs will compensate for the screen DPI setting (with the notable exception of AOL, who never got it right through version 8.0).
I just installed Comodo and have the same display issues. I just re-formatted my compaq ml350 server and installed windows 2000 sp4 with all updates. This was first application installed. I am using normal fonts. can’t read alerts or make changes. Blocks pcAnywhere so I can 't get into the server remotely. I will have to uninstall. What a shame, this looked promising. I was going to purchase this for my web server. If there is a fix soon, I will reconsider. sharring09@yahoo.com
I’m using the 2.3 Beta and some fonts are still truncated. Not everywhere, but in the pop-up menus.
Try testing at 120 DPI and you will see the problem. Sample attached.
