I discovered a bug in Comodo Internet Security’s Defense+. I have the latest update installed. When Defense+ is disabled, any files I have set to be blocked in Defense+ are still blocked. I recently discovered this when spending days trying to install software for my webcam. I previously blocked an executable file which I didn’t want the webcam software to open and forgot I had done so. I did disable Defense+ however and the blocked file should have been accessible again. The fix was to manually remove the blocked file from Defense+'s listing.
How do you disable D+? By moving the slider down? Or did you completely disable it by ticking "Deactivate Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart) " and restarting the computer?
I turned the Defense+ security level down to “Disabled”. But did not permanently disable.
Does the same thing happen when you use the other option to permanently disable? To do so go to Defense + → Advanced → Defense + Settings.
That would require a system reboot. I’m not going to stop everything I have running just to troubleshoot a software program - that should be your job. Thank you. I hope my bug report is taken into consideration for the next Comodo update.
It’s not my job. I am not a Comodo employee just a user like you. I only have the Moderator badge.
I was just curious when I asked. I wanted to see if the problem could be defined more precisely.
Please add the necessary information for the devs as described in Important: how to submit bugreports (read this if you want them fixed). That helps the devs to reproduce the problem. Without it your bug may not be solved.
Sorry if I came off as rude. Thanks for the link - I will check it out.
