A. THE BUG/ISSUE (Varies from issue to issue)
[ol]- Summary - Give a clear summary in the topic subject, NOT here.
-
Can U reproduce the problem & if so how reliably?:
Yes, Everytime
-
If U can, exact steps to reproduce. If not, exactly what U did & what happened:
a:Disabled the Cryptography service
b:Restarted the computer
c:Saw that CIS was delayed from starting.
-
If not obvious, what U expected to happen:
Comodo to start normally with no delay
-
If a software compatibility problem have U tried the conflict FAQ?:
Yes. It did not help.
-
Any software except CIS/OS involved? If so - name, & exact version:
No
-
Any other information, eg your guess at the cause, how U tried to fix it etc:
Perhaps CIS is somehow trying to communicate with the cryptography service when its not running.

B. YOUR SETUP (Likely the same for each issue, so you can copy forward)
[ol]- Exact CIS version & configuration:

Have U made any other changes to the default config? (egs here.):
Yes, all the settings are checked under Firewall Settings/Advanced. I also enabled enhanced protection mode under HIPS.
-
Have U updated (without uninstall) from a CIS 5?:
No
[li]if so, have U tried a a clean reinstall - if not please do?:
NA

I have edited your first post. For future reference all that is required is to copy the code and fill in your response after the colons. Once you are done it should look like what is above. Also, please look over what I have put above and verify that it is correct.
Can you please note what sort of delay you are experiencing? For example, how long did it used to take CIS to load, and how long does it now take? Also, when you are referring to it being delayed from starting, are you talking about the CIS icon or cmdagent.exe?
Also, please note what changes you have made to the configuration.
In addition, please attach both your Diagnostics Report and the KillSwitch Process List. These will be necessarily for the devs to replicate this issue.
Thank you.
When I disable the Cryptography service, the process “cis.exe” will take about a minute to load, along with the CIS tray icon showing up briefly after that. When I had the Cryptography service enabled, they would both load instantly after I logged in. No delay at all.
I’m talking about the CIS tray icon, not the cmdagent.exe process. The CIS tray icon and “cis.exe” will have about a minute delay before they finally load.
I have all the settings checked under Firewall Settings/Advanced. I also enabled enhanced protection mode under HIPS.
I don’t know how to do this, although I feel its not needed since all you have to do is disable the Cryptography service. To do this, at least on my machine, I had to physically remove the “cryptsvc.dll” from the system32 folder. If you set the Cryptography service to disabled under services.msc, it will change to manual with it started after reboot. I know I’m most likely the only person who disables the Cryptography service, its just rather odd that it would effect CIS.
Also, what you edited looks good to me. Thanks for doing that.
To create the diagnostics report open the CIS GUI. Then click on the question mark icon near the upper-right corner. Then select Support, then Diagnostics. This will give you the option to create the diagnostics report. Please attach this to your first post.
For the KillSwitch process list, flip the window to the Tasks side. Then go to the section for “Advanced Tasks” and click on Watch Activity. This will download and open KillSwitch. Once this is open left click on the tab for KillSwitch and select “Save Current View”. This will save a report. Put this report in a zip file and attach it to your first post.
After that I have everything I need to forward this to the devs. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks.
I will now move this to the Non-Format Verified board.
Topics in this board are rarely looked at by the devs, and even if they are it is unlikely the devs can fix the bugs reported. The reason is that putting bug reports in the required format, with the required files, ensures that the devs have enough information to understand and identify the bug. Thus, without that files it becomes very difficult to replicate a bug such as yours.
To get your report forwarded to the devs please attach the two files I requested, and send me a PM. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you.
I can’t make a video of it because it happens right at boot and I would not have enough time to launch a recording program. I also don’t use any virtual machine software, so I can’t record it that way either. All yopu have to do is disable the Cryptography service, and the tray icon and “cis.exe” will not launch for about a minute after you log in.
Also, after I have disabled the Cryptography service, I get this registry issue
when using CCleaner everytime I reboot and run it. It keeps coming back after reboot.
“ActiveX/COM Issue : CIS.CisDebugInjector - {BBB01528-20FE-4bc2-9D26-C70E3ABB9CD19}”
A video is not needed. All I need is the diagnostics report and the KillSwitch Process List.
I will move this back to the main bug reporting board for processing. Please provide those two files. Once you have done that I can forward this to the devs.
If you have any questions about how to get those two files please feel free to ask.
Thanks.

The feedback I have gotten is that the cryptographic service required for correct functionality of Windows and CIS high utilize it. Thus, this is not a bug which can be fixed. I will now move this to Resolved.
Thank you.
