Different Wireless Networks

Hi,

I am currently using a different wireless network on my notebook, however I can’t connect unless my Firewall is off, but after I connect and turn my firewall back on everything is fine, how may I fix this?

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Justin,

Can you try to enable “Create an alert when this rule is fired” option for the BLOCK network rule and retry so that we can have a look at the logs.

You can also try to disable “Monitor DNS Queries” option to see if it works.

Thx,
Egemen

What do you mean, how do I apply this option to what is happening?

I already have already disabled the “Monitor DNS Queries” option.

Hi,

Maybe the information below will help.

Ok I just rebooted and the Wireless network connected itself, however I am still having problems with Repair, if for any reason I need to repair my connection it won’t work unless I disable the firewall while it is reconnecting, maybe the info in my last post will help out.

Hi Justin,

Make sure you do the following :

1- Goto Security->Network Monitor
2- Double click on the last rule which should be BLOCK IP IN FROM ANY TO ANY …
3- Select “Create an alert when this rule is fired” option.

This will enable us to see what CPF blocks while observing your logs.

Please note, if you have any other network monitor rule that BLOCKs anyting, make sure to activate create alert option for them as well.

Thx,
Egemen

Hi,

Did as you said, no alerts were made in the log, and when I tried to repair it seems there is a problem when it is trying to connect to the wireless network. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Justin
