Differences: CIS 2011 "Premium", "Plus", "Pro" and "Complete"

thanks for that Maxx, I guess people want to be protected

Melih

For me the best part was knowing that my Computer at home was already fully and very competently protected by Comodo! I also wanted to mention that the latest CIS v4.1.150349.920 x64 works absolutely flawlessly on my new Win 7 build 7600 x64 computer and to thank you and the developers for taking the time to solve the previous conflicts with Sandboxie as it works perfectly now with the Comodo x64 and the Comodo Sandbox enabled.

I know-i know thank you… 8)

1st post!

Hi all,

I’ve been using Comodo firewall since the beginning, never had serious problems with it (as antivirus i’ve been using Avira free, but recently i’ve decided to use the full Comodo IS suite, and i’m very happy with it), even now it’s hard to believe there’s a security suite this good, for free, and i want to thank Comodo for their effort and especially for keeping such a good product, free. I’ve converted most of my friends as well to use it by now :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, i’m using Windows 7 x64, every update installed to date (as of july 30) and i got this message the other day:

PC im using is an AMD Athlon x64 4000+ dual core, 2gb Kingmax DDR2, ASUS M2N motherboard (bios version 0702, i realize there’s newer versions, but i’m a chicken when it comes to bios updating :stuck_out_tongue: ) and a Gainward Geforce 8600GT, everything has the latest drivers installed but my graphics card, which has 197.45 since i’ve had some problems with newer ones.

I’ve seen that message come up only once since i’ve reinstalled my windows 2 weeks ago, but maybe it means something anyway, thought i’d share it.

Oh, I See… Thanks! :-TU

just a newbie question

does the free provide as good protection as paid…

as some av vendors uses their old engine in free products

Both the free and the paid version get the exact same program. The paid customers get additional services lilke Live PC Support and Trustconnect.

thx eric for clarifying … thats a relief statement for me

If everyone would read the first post of this thread, they would see the software end of the various versions is identical in every way. No stripped down versions here, people.

Hey can I use my complete license for Pro version? I don’t really need the back up feature but I would like to use the trust connect. Also how can I get an updated link for the PRO download?

It’s a shame that this does not apply to UK & EU people etc… as I would consider getting it just for the little added benefits.

Working on this soon Melih, Comodo (Staff) ? >:-D

EDIT/ADD: Thanks to Kind Comodo/Mods, I now have complete version of this at no cost, and loving the Trust connect (yet to try online back up) but my question still stands with regards to the rest of the world with the protection policy cover.

I am considering moving from ESET to Comodo, now that version 5.0 is out , but I don’t think buying the Complete version would justify for me, as I live in Ecuador … btw, it’s warm here, anyone wants to spend his/her vacations on the beach? ;D

I hope this type of policy cover can be brought to South America / Latin America in the near future.

I can imagine already: The world protected by Comodo! :P0l

THANKS Josh™ … :-TUIT’s great that COMODO makes no difference between those CIS “Premium”, “Pro” and “Complete” , Your help has already resolved my puzzle~

I am confused about what is included in CIS “Plus”. When I bought version 4 of it, it included Trustconnect at 10GB per month, although there is no mention of this on the CIS Product Page.

See first post - has been edited to reflect the new CIS 2011 packages.

Frogger, thanks for that, but from what I can see it is not quite clear / correct. My experience of BOTH Plus and Pro these past few days shows that…

  • Plus includes Trustconnect

  • Plus for Live Support covers security related issues only

  • Pro in addition to Plus above has Live Support for all PC issues not just security one, plus whatever points you already highlighted.

By the way, really impressed with Live Support on Pro. Helped me today on some niggling issues, in just a few minutes, that I could not resolve without spending hours troubleshooting.

Thanks cavehomme,

For noticing the subtle differences, that were overlooked. 88)

if i understood correctly, sales just told me trust connect is not included in cis plus, but is in cis pro. you might want to check with marketing on the rest just in case. thanks for this!
