Difference between settings

What’s the difference between the “Firewall Security Level”, “Defense + Security Level” and which configuration I use (Proactive Security - Updated/Internet Security/Firewall/Security/Proactive Security)?

Thanks!

Its ale explained there and I hope this helps.

Thanks. My main question is about the configurations (Proactive Security - Updated/Internet Security/Firewall Security/Proactive Security). Which one should I choose? I have an anti-virus and anti-spy/malware.

COMODO - Proactive Security - This configuration turns CIS into the ultimate protection machine
I guess this one ;)

I’m not sure what you’re saying. Do you use full CIS installation (firewall, Defense+ and antivirus)?

“Firewall Security Level”, “Defense+ Security Level” etc.determine a certain CIS module behavior i.e. the “Firewall Security Level” can be set to Safe Mode, Block All Mode etc.

“Proactive Security”, “Internet Security” etc. are global configuration profiles (affecting all CIS modules).

Basicly “Firewall Security Level” is a security level (the level of protection) of the Firewall module, “Defense+ Security Level” is a security level (the level of protection) of the Defense+ (HIPS) module etc. The first setting can be found in GUI- Firewall - Advanced - Firewall Behavior Settings.

Global configuration profiles can be found in Miscellaneous - Manage my configurations.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I’m dense, but I don’t know which configuration so select when I right-click on the CFP icon in the system tray. I can choose one of the following:

Proactive Security - Updated
Internet Security
Anti-Virus Security
Firewall Security
Proactive Security

Choose Proactive Updated.

Again

COMODO - Proactive Security - This configuration turns CIS into the ultimate protection machine. All possible protections are activated and all critical COM interfaces and files are protected.

If you don’t know which to choose you stay with the default (Internet Security) or, if you want the highest level of protection, you choose Proactive Security Updated. Then IMO it is a good practice to export your configuration and import it right away back giving it a name for example “proactive_updated_mine”. I think this way you won’t modify the default profiles and you can always use them to restore defaults. I think it should be done by COMODO automaticly. No “what are CIS defaults” topic would be needed.

Thanks for the help. :■■■■

You’re welcome.
