I need to deny access to my Live Messenger program, which is located in C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger. I added the ‘Windows Live’ folder to the ‘My Quarantined Files’ list in Defense+ but somehow, sometimes I am still able to start the messenger program by clicking the shortcut on the desktop even though I cannot access the folder from windows explorer.
Here is what you can do to completely block WL Messenger. Go to Firewall → Advanced → Network security policy. Find Live Messenger’s listing here and click on it then click edit. Click on “use a predefined policy” and choose “blocked application”. You will not be able to use Messenger after doing this.
I’m not sure if this is what you wanted. If not let us know and we can help you some more.
